Parenting Is A Spiritual Journey

I had always been the perfect mum until I became one.

The scripted motherhood movie I had in my mind before having children didn't match reality. My first years of motherhood were an emotional roller coaster. I was overwhelmed by things to do, outcomes to achieve and milestones to reach in order to raise "happy" and "successful" children. I was running on fear and control disguised as perfectionism. That same fear would turn into anxiety and reactivity when things went off script, only to leave me silently spiralling with guilt.

In 2023, I started exploring mindfulness practices to tame the reactivity, crossing the Atlantic to dive deep into week-long meditation retreats and exploring breathwork, Reiki healing, hypnosis, family constellations and more. One day, I discovered the work of Dr Shefali by reading her bestseller "The Conscious Parent", and I told myself, "I wish I had come across this book before having children."

Right there, my self-development journey circled back to where it all began: in childhood. I started to peel away layers of conditioning and raise my awareness. The insights were profound, and I realised how much my parenting journey had been a compass for my healing. I discovered that my joy and passion were rooted in guiding others to navigate life's challenges and inspiring them to expand their understanding of life. The "Wounded Healer", as my astrology describes. I trained with Dr Shefali and graduated from her Coaching Institute, diving deep into her revolutionary approach that blends Western psychology with Eastern wisdom.

My lived experience is where practice meets theory on a never-ending journey of self-discovery and self-improvement.

Our children are our greatest teachers and awakeners.
